Dress in Connection rather than Culturally

In Hong Kong, we dress according to the trends around the world—Japanese, Korean, European, American...but never of our own culture, really.  Physically honoring another culture’s expression over our own, we ignore this part of us which is so important in laying down the very steps that consolidate style as well as our worth.

Having only visited Japan properly once (the other time was when I was in kindergarten and have no memory of), but have been told I look Japanese frequently, actually I don’t really follow Japanese fashion styles as such, as not needing to, allows me the space to dress freely in honor of every culture.
